BEGINNERS

We are developing a new generation of Australian percussion champions, and your child could be one of them! Lessons for beginners aim to develop individual student' musicality, music reading skill, memory skill, creativity and artistic confidence.  We also provide opportunities for APA grades percussion exams, and preparation courses for taking the Music Scholarship exams in private schools.

INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED

Individually designed for each student an intense and stimulating program stresses the development of technique and musicianship through the study of solo and ensemble repertoire. Students will perform a broad range of music from Classical to Contemporary (Rock, Jazz, Latin, Fusion) and Novelty including “Stomp-like” Percussion Ensemble music (basketballs, brooms, junk instruments etc). We ensure that each student receives full attention and equal opportunities to perform.  Each lesson will include Music Theory based on requirements of the AMEB grading system. Students are required taking part of AMEB Music Theory Exams at the end of each year.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Dan Slater

Percussion Teacher of Mater Christi and Ringwood North Primary School

I took lessons/workshops with Sergei to expand my own percussion teaching knowledge and I have been so inspired! His enthusiasm immediately put me at ease and his years of experience certainly speed up the learning process by being 'to the point' but also thorough. Sergei's Xylophone book "Nice and Easy" is very clever in that it follows a logical progression but is fun for the beginner student and I would certainly recommend it. I am now able to explain mallet tuition in a more accessible (and successful) way to my own students - Thank you!
